Hello there! My name is Stephanie and I am the owner and operator of Henton Hill Farm, a small poultry and fungi farm and micro bakery in Sherburne, NY.
In 2017, my partner and I were living in a one bedroom apartment in Chicago. We adopted a sweet puppy from our local shelter and a year later she was 75 pounds. I promised her on her first birthday that one day soon we would buy her a farm so she could stretch her legs and live her best life. We had also both worked in the food industry and were well aware of the horrific practices used on factory farms. We were determined to be a part of the solutionā¦ one day.
This felt like a far off dream, until the pandemic hit in 2020. Much of the structure and purpose of our lives crumbled, and we found ourselves looking at the rubble and imagining how we should rebuild. We made a determination to live the life we dreamed of right now. We found a house that felt like home, packed up our belongings in a small trailer, and drove from Chicago to CNY with the dog and cat in the back seat. Lucky for us, they love adventures.
As first generation farmers, we have had a lot to learn (chicken surgery, for one!), but we have also experienced incredible joy, connection, and gratitude. At Henton Hill Farm, we are committed to regenerating soil health, allowing animals to live their lives as nature intended, and treating all living things with compassion and respect. We aim to provide our community with delicious foods produced in ethically and environmentally responsible ways. Follow our journey on Instagram and Facebook!
