Join Local Foods Mohawk Valley on August 24th at 6:30 p.m. for a pop-up meal cooked by Nomad! Nomad is the brainchild of Sarah and Anthony Marris-Swann, who are in the process of opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Utica that celebrates global cuisine. Nomad will be cooking a South Indian vegetarian meal that leans heavily on the abundant late summer produce available through the market at that time. Guests will have the option to choose a meat curry to add to the main course, which will be served thali-style. Guests can expect a prix fixe menu consisting of:
Appetizer: Paneer pakora with yogurt mint sauce
First course: Kachumber salad of cucumber, cherry tomato, red onion, carrot, radish, chili, cilantro, and lime
Second course: Vegetable curry platter, served with steamed basmati rice and flatbread; with optional meat curry side
Dessert: Payasam rice pudding with cardamom, golden raisins, and toasted cashews.
